The Central Government by the power conferred on it by the Insurance Act, 1938 framed the Redressal of Public Grievance Rule, 1998. This scheme came into effect by the Gazette Notification made on 11th November 1998. The scheme aims at settlement of complaints of the policyholder in cost effective, efficient and impartial manner.
