Many of you don’t know that you cannot actually be arrested for Credit Card debt. But being in debt and having an outstanding amount in general is a civil issue and not a criminal issue. On technical grounds you did not pinch the money, you and the credit card company have an agreement that you will borrow the money and pay it back when you can. If you don’t pay it back, the credit card companies can take legal action you and asks for you to appear in the court. If you don’t appear in court when requested, that is when they can lay an arrest warrant on you. But if you fail to appear in court then you will be arrested for not appearing in court and not for the debt.

What if you were served papers, and never had a court date. You tried to work with the "lawyer" representing the company and then they filed a default judgement against you? They send you something that says to respond in 15 days. Then can they arrest you?
mostly this doesn't lead to arrest. what the court will do is pass a a default judgment in favor of the crediting company.
Default judgment generally does is to put a lien on any real estate which you own.
now when you need to sell the house or get finance on it, you will need to get the judgment settled first.
As far as I know, you will not but you will definitely be bugged but those credit collection companies who would not rest until you settle your accounts.
