Here are some colleges that offer a wide range of courses in Japanese language, literature and civilization, which are frequently included into a broad program of Asian Studies. And most of them offer a course in Japanese film and animation.
· Cornell University in Ithaca, New York
· University of Rochester in Rochester, New York
· Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, New York

I am from Asia(India) I also know Japanese little bit. but one of my best friend now living in New York actually he studied Japaneses in University of Rochester in Rochester, New York few years back...
