I think life just comes at us in different parts. I mean when I was young my parents would try to point me in the right direction and I would always act like I knew better (something ALL teenagers do), but as I got a little older, I noticed that my parents knew what they were talking about...
Now that I am a parent, I try to keep my daughter out of trouble and I try to keep her from getting hurt, but I find that she too is going to make mistakes and eventually her time will come when she finds out that I knew more then she thought I did.
As far as happiness, I have found that taking a long walk (by myself) in the evening before bed helps me clear my mind. I have finally reached a point in my career were I am doing what I want to do (teach) and I am loving it. The money is not as good as it was in my previous career, but the stability is better. I am able to pay my bills every month and the retirement will be amazing when I am ready to retire.
I think I might have found happiness...
